Hope you all had a great christmas!
I had a lovely day with my boyfriend and his family.


This is us 'kids' on christmas eve being merry.


Here is a few of the lovely things I was bought:

D&G L'Imperatrice is such a beautiful perfume you have to smell it next time your in a perfume shop.

I really cannot wait to get stuck into my craft books I think my new years resolution will be to pick one book and complete every craft in it...

I also cannot wait to watch Mr and Mrs Smith as you may know Carole Lombard is one of my all time favourite actresses and when I saw this in HMV I was cheeky and asked Ben to buy it for me!

Ben bought me the dvd and also the Lion King boxset! I havent actually seen the second and third movies but it will be interesting. He also suprised me by saying he is buying me a joint birthday (24th Jan) and christmas present but he needed to know my size first...

The ring I posted about! Ben saw the pictures and decided to get it for me! So as soon as it arrives I will have pictures to show! :D

Family Christmas

Its my sisters 20th birthday today, Both my sister and me will be working away this christmas so I went home for 2 days to celebrate and have the family feast I will miss on the 25th.

I had a great time with family,friends the chickens and the ducks. We enjoyed great food and company and a few early presents ;) I love living in Cardiff but I wish it was closer to home and the people I love. The ducks have grown so much they are bigger than the chickens! They do not stay still for one second so here is a blurred picture of them.


My sister bought me a charm for my Chamilia bracelet, the suitcase one I love it!

The book is soooo much fun!

My friend bought me these adorable mittens and the Kirstie Allsopp craft book!!


I will review the book soon as christmas is over and I have had chance to make something. I am thinking of the mittens now as I type with cold hands...mmmmm.

'Oh Christmas Tree' at last!

Finally put up the tree and I am truly delighted by how it looks! I was suprised we had enough decorations but we had just the right amount.

Me and Ben have both said we want a tree full of personality with almost no ornament the same. We are already doing quite well, I showed you some of the other decorations in my previous posts we have one from our holiday some are homemade its something we will build on each year :)
I would love some vintage decorations but its not something you find in Uk so much unless you look online.

My first christmas with my boyfriend of 3 years I cannot wait I love him so much :)

I went with the boots from Boohoo and while I was there this dress caught my eye so I got that as well haha.

Should be buying for others....





the dress was £18 so thats a bargain in my eyes! so looking forward to christmas :)

Ive got my presents all mapped out so now I just have to go and shop for them.

Oh also HORROR of horrors! I went to put the tree up yesterday evening and guess what?! 2 of its feet are missing!! So unless you can buy spare feet for a tree Im going to have to buy a new one :/

still resisting putting up the tree! how good am I?

I can't wait for pay day so I can start getting my christmas presents for everyone, I have some great ideas this year I wont post them because I don't want to ruin any suprises.

My work christmas party is soon as well, what shall I wear?!

I will probably use a dress I already own but I have a lack of shoes, well at least ones that arent seriously scuffed!

Christmas decs!

So everyone on facebook has been posting they have seen the Coca Cola advert and christmas is here. (I havent had the pleasure yet, Ben bought Skyrim for the xbox so I havent been able to get near the tv since friday night!)

Im actually literally bursting seriously cannot wait to put up my christmas tree this year. I think Im so excited because its our first christmas alone together in the flat! There will be no housemates pesky (but adorable) kitten to pull over the tree!
Ben said its too soon for the decorations so Ive started stocking up so I can put it all out together. Ive also been making a few festive bits handmade christmas is the best, you saw my last post about the decoupage photoframes...

I was going to buy these from Ikea but they had sold out and I thought to myself 'don't be so lazy Emily you can make those easily' so I sat down today and made my own mushroom :)
Mine reminds me of Disneys Fantasia hehe


Down the road there is a little boutique with the most delicious candyland christmas display it is ADORABLE sugar mice, gingerbread houses and lollipops I bought one because it was £3 and just too good to say no!

Im definitley not a matchy matchy person I want a mad eclectic tree in all colours, I like to get things that mean something to me or remind me of christmas at home. I bought a delft style bauble in Amsterdam so that will also be on my tree.

Im rambling now so I will end this post go listen to Bing Crosby, watch the tv waiting for the holidays to come and show you pictures of everything when its all out of the boxes!

...If I can't get back home to Coventry on christmas eve.

Its been snowing like I have never seen before here in Wales and its causing a lot of transport problems.

It looks beautiful and I adore snow but I would not like to be stranded alone in Cardiff while my family celebrate at home.(view from my kitchen window)


To take my mind off things and keep me positive Ive started to wrap my presents. here is one for my mum.

We managed to get a few decorations on the tree, and so far the cat has not shown an interest!

Christmas in Moomin land

So I have now Graduated! I am no longer a university student I have Bachelors degree in Photographic art and it feels good! I moved from Newport a few miles west to Cardiff the Welsh capital. Big changes, you can forgive me for not posting for about 6 months.
To finish the end of university on a high we had a book launch for the book me and the other students on my course published.
It was held in the Chapter Gallery Cradiff and this is what the finished book looked like.



I said Id post a few things. Its snowing for the second time this week and Im officially in the festive spirit! I would love nothing more than a white christmas.

Firstly, it looks like I wont be having a tree this year as my housemates new kitten keeps climbing it and knocking the decorations off :(

Elwood is super cute though so I cant stay mad for long!


I have been obsessing over the moomins recently, I love the idea of winter in moominland I want that much snow to fall in Cardiff! So I made felt moomins for the bookcase in the flat.


Ive started on Little My and Snufkin but making their clothes is putting me off finishing them! I did see these crochet versions of Snufkin in the Chapter gallery in Cardiff where we held the book launch, I might buy one of those and sit him on the bookshelf instead of making him...or is that cheating?

Catch up time!

Happy New Year everyone!

It's been a while folks and its been a great holiday. Everything is winding down, except that is my work load! So this is a whistle stop tour through my christmas hols!

When I got back to Coventry, I quickly made plans to see all my old school friends in the week before christmas, so we could exchange cards and have a good old catch up. It was lovely to see them all as we are doing such different things now, some of us are at uni and some of my friends are still at home doing various jobs. So any chance I get to see them is great.

Christmas Eve
Every Christmas Eve we go to my cousin's house in the country to sing carols round the village christmas tree, its always great fun and really gets you in the festive spirit. For the first time that I can remember there was snow on the ground. It was beautiful, but after only a few minutes of singing my toes were numb in my wellies!

Christmas Day
Christmas day was more relaxed than usual, normally we have family over but this year it was just me, my parents and sister. We had a lovely lunch with turkey and cranberry sauce yummmmmmmmm! oh and my favourite: chestnut stuffing ;)


Boxing Day
Boxing Day was chaotic, in a good way. My grandma, aunt, uncle and 2 younger cousins came over. I really admire my parents for managing to organise and cook a sit down meal for such a large number of people. It was wonderful as usual. My Dad did his speciality Sweetcorn pudding from the 'Nigella Bites' recipe book.
If you havent ever tried it then you must look it up! Its very warming. (oh and its not a pudding like a dessert its for going with your main meal).

She hung it on the tree but now its been taken down she has it on her jewellery tree :)

How lucky we were to get more snow! I love love love the snow. It settled on all the trees and made it look like we were in the alps! Me and my sister went out at night and built a snowman

I'm back at uni now, so in the following days I will tell you about my murder mystery new years eve and do a few classic film reviews. Until then stay warm!

Fake Christmas Day!

So yesterday evening was the last time I would get to see my boyfriend before we both went home for Christmas. So me and Ben made an epic christmas dinner which took us 2 hours to prepare and cook.(I know thats nothing compared to a real christmas dinner with a turkey). Ben's housemate also joined us for the festivities.

We had a chicken, roast potatoes, parsnips, sprouts (yuck!), peas, carrots, sweetcorn, yorkshire puddings, stuffing (yummmm) and pigs in blankets!

It all tasted fantastic, I just wished we had made an effort with decorations and crackers and things.

Next we sat down with some alcohol and watched the Muppets Christmas Carol which has to be my fave christmas film ever made!
While we relaxed and let our food digest we played with party poppers, streamers and finally opened our prezzies!

Ben got Matt: UnHinged - some terrible old B movie thing, basically they have a tradition for any gift giving occaision, of buying bad DVDs for each other from Cash Converters or Pound Land. You know the sort, unknown actors, bad special effects, terrible storyline which is always a rip off of a blockbuster film.

Matt got Ben: a Mr T keyring, Ben loves Mr T. *rolls eyes*

Ben got me: The River Island bag I have wanted for ages, he found it on ebay and bought it me, because it was no longer in the shops. It is brand new! and The Wizard of Oz calendar!!!! I am one happy girl :D

do you like what you can see of my dress? Its one of my favourites, from Topshop it looks just like a 1920s dress, I adore it! I really like the silky pattern round the neckline.


I got Ben: A book about Customised trainers and a Stylophone.

We sat and learnt christmas songs on that stylophone all evening, playing with all the different pitches and things, a great toy!

Then we went out to our local pub for another drink and to meet a few friends.
A great day was had by all, I'm going to miss Ben over the holidays!! My mum phoned me earlier and said it was snowing back home, I really hope it settles, I love snow.
